My name is Maureen Batson and I was born in Washinton, D.C., raised and still living in the beautiful state of Maryland. For 30 years I was a music teacher/choral director and now I am a creator of wonderfully unique dolls. I retired in June, 1991 and made my very first doll in July of the same year. Since that time I have made and sold 4,644 dolls. My creations are called Dolls-Via Maureen and although I make several name-specific dolls (Goldilocks, Betsy Ross, Scarlett O'Hara, etc.), I have many dolls that I would love to
personalize for you.
I am the sole doll artist.
The Newest addition to my site is my Son Jeffrey's company called
"Wee Little Box". You have to see these adorable boxes, so clever and so beautiful! I have also added a new doll to my Christmas Collection....my
"Silent Night" Angel. This doll was the
first doll I ever made. I had to discontinue her in 2002, because the Silent Night ribbon was nowhere to be found. Then, amazingly a few months ago, I searched on eBay and, yes, I found it! Thank you, eBay!
I have also added making
Bridge Tallies and
Novelty Greeting & Christmas Cards to my creative endeavors.
My daughter, Leslie, has revived her
Macrame talents and is making lovely porch and patio plant hangers. They can all be found on my website, in my "Other Than Dolls" section along with my
Crocheted Afghans.
When I am not making dolls, I enjoy working on my web site and playing bridge with Tom and friends.
I also spend as much time as I can swimming, walking, reading, shopping, crocheting and visiting with my children, grandchildren and friends.
Life is good!
Retirement is great! I'm loving life!
