Welcome
My name is Maureen Batson and I was born in Washinton, D.C., raised and still living in the beautiful state of Maryland. I was a music teacher/choral director for 30 years and now I am a creator of wonderfully unique dolls. I retired in June, 1991 and made my very first doll in July of the same year. Since that time I have made and
sold 4,569 dolls. I call my creations Dolls -Via Maureen and although I make several name-specific dolls (Goldilocks, Betsy Ross, etc.), I have many dolls that I would love to
personalize for you.
I am the sole doll artist.
husband, Tom and I
My husband and I have four terrific children and fourteen wonderful grandchildren and I have created a doll for each of them.
My "Little Ones Collection" consists of my dolls for each grandchild, niece, great-niece and great-nephew.
You can see the real child's picture when you click on the doll. I have also included photos of my friends and other family members, with their dolls (I couldn't resist). Just click on the doll to see the living doll.
When I am not making dolls, I enjoy working on my web site and playing bridge with Tom and friends. I also spend as much time as I can swimming, reading, shopping, crocheting and visiting with my children, grandchildren and friends.
Life is good!
I have added making
Bridge Tallies and
Novelty Greeting & Christmas Cards to my creative endeavors. They can be found on my website, in my "Other Than Dolls" section along with afghans (crocheted my me) and Bears (handmade by my friend, Jane).
Retirement is great! I'm loving life!
