The Wampanoag (Eastern People) participated in the first Thanksgiving. Their chief, Massasoit, from the Seasonal Collection, representing his tribe, signed the peace treaty with the Pilgrims on March 22,1621 ( a card with the terms of the treaty is included ). He was born in 1590 and died in 1661. My doll, "Massasoit", stands on a painted wooden base and is dressed in fringed paper twist ribbon. He is extending the "Peace Pipe" which is hand sculpted, baked and painted polymer and wood. I have given him a bear claw necklace and leather & feather headdress. All Native American dolls are made of wood, wire, black Aldastar doll hair, miniature accessories and his clothing is made of paper twist ribbon. He is approximately 10'' tall. As with all of my dolls, his name appears on the bottom.
