The Luckenbooth is an ancient, Scottish symbol of good fortune, dating back to the 17th century. Mounted atop a small wooden box, it was given as a token of betrothal, where wedding rings were placed, to bring good fortune to the lives of the newlyweds. Today, these tiny, hand-carved black walnut boxes, are mainly adorned with a round 1.35 ct. ruby from Thailand, and are still sought for their luck - and their beauty. Approximate box size is 2" cube.
